Bowen raised an eyebrow at first, not entirely expecting Shiela to stay. Yet… she didn't have anything she needed to do and her place was being looked after, a raised eyebrow turned into a brief widening of both eyes when she locked the door, confirming her answer. "Ah, alright!" Wait, this meant she was staying here tonight? Of course he had no issues with that at all, he just wished the butterflies in his stomach would calm down for just a damn minute. And speaking of, the answer to his plight was met with a single word. Booze. Alcohol was a strange thing to Bowen, even though he had seen his friends drink plenty of times. As much as he wasn't normally one to indulge in it, it really seemed like the best course of action to loosen himself up.

Oh boy, that stuff looks so much like a blackout prescription, yet, a small cup like that, just take it carefully and there shouldn't be any problems.

"Sometimes the worse it tastes, the stronger it is." He finally remarked, a smile coming to him again. "Why not, let's have a crack at it."

Yeah, this is definitely going to help him for sure. Just… don't have too much!

Assignments that weren’t dangerous or emergencies always brought out the curiosity in him, even if, well, this wasn’t exactly an assignment. Not every Operator had that kind of wanderlust, which made it surprising how those people even stayed in that kind of job.

“Heh, no need to worry about that, I don’t do a whole lot in times like this.” Especially without net access. Just read some stats on the IDND and then consider some shut eye. “Makes sense with where we’re going and all.” That way he could experience the sunrise, for one. A curious eyebrow raised at Shiela’s question regarding sticking around. He was used to crashing in places like this on his own, but… “Well… I wouldn’t want to hold you up if there’s anything you need to do but… I’ll definitely appreciate your company if you wanted to stay.”

Oh man he sounded sappy then, didn’t he? Cheeks darkened for a moment as he felt the slightest bit of embarrassment from the answer he gave her.

“Hmmmm… wonder what I should do,” she teased for a moment.  She had no intentions of leaving now though.  She brought her hand back and leaned against the door, crossing her arms.  “Well, might as well give ya somethin’ ta do, since you don’t have much else ta do in this world.  Nothin’ in perticular I need ta do either.  My place has someone to look after it.  I’m gone a fair bit after all, it’ll survive a night.  And I can look for a job after our fun in the morning.”  She pushed the bolt through the latch to lock the door for the night and walked back into the room.  “Now lessee where the man keeps his booze.  I can replace what we drink within reason, so might as well keep the fun going a bit, right?  Alcohol makes everything better… in the right amount.”  She walked over to a cabinet near the counter that counted for a kitchen and started going through the top shelf.  She pulled out two small cups and a bottle of something that looked like hangover fuel.  

“Feelin’ adventurous?  Man’s a sailor, so it probably tastes awful, but I bet it’s plenty effective!”

Tyler's POV

Hello you're probably curious as to know who I am right?

Well my name is Tyler Senerchia most people call me by the name "Hook" I'm basically a pro wrestler of a company called "All Elite Wrestling" which my dad the legendary man himself "Taz" works there as a commentary person

Now there's not a lot to know about me but if your so curious here it is.... I'm not much of a nice guy well it's if you disrespect me or my father's legacy but if you respect me, I respect you plain and simple

But there is one thing you all should know, at daylight I'm more human but at night I'm a demon yes a demon and when my demon form appears you better hide from me as much as you can I tend to kill if necessary but if there's two things I won't hurt it's women and children but bad guys... Heh it's more fun for me to kill again if necessary

But I'm not the only person that's a demon I have others that are like me I have Anthony Bowens, Darius and Dante Martin, Action Andretti and Darby Allin but the thing is there demon forms don't come out like mine but at most nights I do tend to keep my demon form locked away

Now back to knowing about myself...my only cravings I get are blood from enemies and sometimes sex from the women I choose for my liking

Now when it comes to sex.... sometimes my demon form comes out to play I tend to get very sexual during lustful desires but the problem is I sometimes can't control my thirst for blood so most lustful nights turn into disaster at the end and I do tend to lose control

Most of the day I just wrestle for my liking and get to hear the fans scream for me is music to my ears just like I get to hear my victims scream in pain when I get to tear them to fucking pieces hearing them scream in pain and begging for mercy is more music to my ears then ever

Now I know what you're thinking "why Wheeler Yuta?" He's the worst from BlackPool Combat Club those guys are strong and powerful demons but none of them are compared to me but you'll get the point when you go further into my life and story

EJ Caswell - being the CFOs son has it's perks, as evidenced by EJs immediate inclusion to the program. Make no mistake though, EJ has more than earned his keep, quickly proving to be the best young salesman in the programs history and leading the team to record breaking profits. EJ has since joined the company full time, following his graduation. When not in the field, EJ likes to hang out with his former unit, giving out tips and tricks of the trade.

Gina Porter - with the leave of EJ, Gina has finally claimed the top spot in Sales. Unfortunately now she has to acclimate the new blood while being short-staffed after Nini's transfer to the California office. And if that weren't hard enough, the student leader of Building Events is proving a persistent distraction.

Mack Alana - Mack has recently been offered a position in the program. His simulation numbers were fantastic, but he's a little out of touch with what really makes a salesman. He'll have to buckle down if he's to survive Gina's intense training, and his natural charm won't work on every sucker on the street.

Former

Nini Salazar Roberts - While not as competitive as Gina, Nini maintained a respectable lead in sales for several months. Nini has since transferred to a sister office in California, coinciding with her move to pursue music in her spare time.

Marketing

Valerie Donnelly - Like EJ, Val has moved up the ranks to the company proper. While not as involved as EJ, Val takes pride in her mentoring role and is always just a text away. Which might be necessary if Miss Jenn can't cut through the drama and whip these kids into shape.

Kourtney Greene - Having been in the program for a few years, Kourt is logically the next in line for Student Leader. Bold and Beautiful, Kourtney knows what works and how to make it work for you. There's just one problem, Kourtney is graduating in a few months and she's not sure if the company offer is where she's meant to go. This on top of wrangling the large personalities on her team have made this season more stressful than anticipated.

Carlos Rodriguez - Out and Proud, Carlos tends to fill every room he's in. High class, high maintenance, the office Instagram Page looks good and Carlos would kill before letting someone else touch his baby. Carlos operates as the Student officer of Diversity, and previously spent two seasons as Miss Jenn's shadow. In a loving relationship with Seb from Building Events.

Ashlyn Caswell - as the name implies, Ash is also a legacy member, but while her cousin shines flexing his skills and seeing the sights in the field, Ashlyn much prefers the view from her desk. Surrounded by her chosen family, Ashlyn is a stable and reliable member of the team, even if she did get a rough start with Val. Now if only she didn't get stuck with the computer most prone to breakdown.

Dani Cantrall - Like Mack, Dani is a new select from the class runner ups. She has good instincts, and brings a respectable following right out the gate. But it's her abrasive personality and short temper that's going to put her to the test.

Former

Lily Keegan - Lily was once a promising addition to the marketing team, but quickly proved a toxic influence. Miss Jenn asked her to leave after her snapshot 'Autism in the Workplace' nearly got the team, and the company itself, in hot water with the press.

Building Events

Ricky Bowen - How Richard Bowen qualified for the student outreach program is still a mystery. Constantly late, and shamelessly careless, many outside observers have wondered how he's maintained his offer, let alone achieved Student Leader. But his work speaks for itself, dozens and dozens of successful events on the books. Ricky has a unique ability to get the many divisions to work together in harmony. Now if only he could manage to organize his life enough to ask out the superstar Saleswoman Gina.

Sebastian Matthews Smith - Strong and reliable, Seb's slowlife mentality makes him an asset in the whirlwind of the office. While not always the most intuitive, Seb is highly skilled at the routines of event set up and breakdown. Seb spends most breaks in the Marketing office with his partner Carlos.

Jet Curda-Lyles - Jet is new to the Building Events team. Low energy and snarky, Jet doesn't speak often, but makes sure he's heard when he does. Hired on with his sister, he can sometimes feel like he's living in the shadow of her savant gifts with technology. Some unknown drama with the siblings can make meeting tense, but both are first to defend each other. Spends breaks dozing in the lounge or sitting with his sister's service dog, JJ.

Tech Support

Maddox Curda-Lyles - Maddox has a gift, and can make any technology sing. Now if only she was so talented at communicating with people. JJ is Maddie's constant companion, providing support and protection from the outside world. Maddox has quickly risen up ranks and become the Student Leader. Rumor has it, the company is looking to scout her early into their ranks. Not that Maddie's noticed, she's got her eye on a certain Marketing Student, with unfortunate luck with computers.

Big Red Redonovich - While Maddox has a natural agility with tech, Biggie earned his way over several seasons. Sweet and gentle, Big Red is everyone's friend, though he does clash with the foreign exchange employee Antoine. Big Red and Ricky were scouted together, with some saying that Ricky only made it in due to Red refusing to leave him behind.

↳ BACKSTORY

My mom is a half blood, a legacy of Apollo and Aphrodite. All my life, it has been a huge secret. my grandparents moved to northern Canada when they left camp, and because there were not many monsters there. my mom didn't learn she is a half blood until she was 18. Many years later, while going through a divorce, her and some friends went on a girls trip to Vegas, where she had a one night stand with a random guy in a bar.

what she didn't know, is that the random guy was Dionysus, God of insanity, wine, and fertility. She found out she was pregnant and assumed it was her soon-to-be ex-husband, James's child. they got back together, and had me. three years later, she ended up getting the divorce. although I experienced many attacks and strange occurrences over the years, I believed James was my father. That was until, while at the mall, I was attacked again. this time, my friends were with me. I learned that 2 of them were also half bloods, one who already knew, and one who didn't. together, the three of us traveled to camp, where I was claimed at the camp fire, when Mr. D saw me for the first time, pointed at me, and said 'Mine.' Ever since then, Cabin 12 has been my home.

Apologies everyone, but I'm writing a Caswen thing and my head is thus spinning with headcanons, and I need to share/dump them somewhere so...

Physical touch is one of their biggest love languages. Ricky has always enjoyed it immensely, but realized very quickly that EJ was a little uncomfortable with it due to his history, so Ricky eased him back into it slowly, and now anytime they're able to they'll usually be draped around each other in some way (arms around the shoulder, heads in lap, cuddled on a couch, leaning while standing, waist holding, etc).

Related to the previous one, EJ adores Ricky's curls and can play with them for hours. And it works out well since Ricky LOVES when EJ does so. And no one else. Ricky was practically hissing like an irate cat when Seb once tried.

Once married, they go by Richard and Elton Bowen, though their official name is Caswell-Bowen, having dropped the Caswell part until Cash dies and EJ feels he can reclaim the name from his father's abusive legacy.

EJ eventually worked his way up to a couple masters degrees in English and Education (with minor focus in film studies) and became a professor at a highly acclaimed college. Ricky got to a masters in psychology (with a lot of help from his husband) and now works for a local practice, while also teaching piano lessons in his spare time.

For one Valentine's Day, they both forgot to get presents, and thus both showed up with guitars in hand to use a ballad as a substitute. It was a very adorable afternoon.

EJ is the only person allowed to call Ricky 'Dick Bowen'

Ricky is a habitual sweatshirt stealer. EJ occasionally retaliated by stealing Ricky's own sweatshirts. Ricky also has pretty much permanent ownership of EJ's letterman jacket.

EJ is the little spoon most often.

EJ introduced Ricky to knitting (with a little help from Gina), which Ricky quickly fell in love with and now they can occasionally be found having quiet moments near the waterfront where EJ reads and Ricky knits.

Big Red and Gina had a feud about who would give the toast at the wedding, before it was eventually decided that they couldn't agree and the task was given to Maddox instead.

They struggle with movie nights because one or both of them usually falls asleep.

EJ is the only other person in the friend group to know Big Red's real name, which Big Red only agreed to because Ricky practically begged.

Ricky is indecisive as to what his favourite part of EJ is, but it's somewhere between his eyes or his smile.

Ricky once got sick right before a group skiing trip and EJ decided to stay behind and tend to him for a full week. He even rigged up a call button like in hospitals. (To be clear, this was an above average case of the flu)

Ricky is a fantastic cook, EJ is a fantastic baker.

It's an ongoing debate/competition which one of them has the bigger/better heart eyes.

A Time In Rome - Elizabeth Bowen - This is Bowen's 'guidebook' for Rome, where she writes really evocatively about the city and its history and atmosphere and how she imagines its changed over the years. Kinda fits with Chapter 1 and my focus on Paris.

Camera Lucida - Roland Barthes - This is ostensibly meant to be a book on the art of photography, but Barthes turns it into a reflection on grief and losing his mother (by looking at old photos of her) and it's full of nostalgia and thoughts on aging and mortality. I thought Daniel would be drawn to Barthes, as an academic, and to a book that attempts to teach about art, alongside its other themes.

Midnight In Sicily - Peter Robb - Robb is a really interesting author. He's a journalist, and Midnight in Sicily explores the south of Italy through its painting, literature and food to shed light on the legacy of political corruption and violent crime linked to the Mafia's influence. I love the intertextuality and the political writing, and I think Daniel would too. Robb also wrote an influential biography of Caravaggio.

About This Life - Barry Lopez - Lopez is an essayist/naturalist/travel writer who has written really insightfully about climate change. About this life is more a collection of essays about the art of writing and storytelling, combined with some essays on nature and more memoir-style pieces about memory and his own life. As Daniel wrote his own book touching on the climate crisis I thought he'd respect Lopez, and of course, it has memory as a theme again.

Seize The Day - Saul Bellow - This is a collection of short stories and a play, the title story of which features a man who is a failed actor, estranged from his wife and children and forced to re-examine his life. I like the fact that it includes a play and I'm sure Daniel would be able to see himself in the central character.

On The Move - Oliver Sacks - This is Sacks' memoir/autobiography. Sacks was a celebrated neurologist, who wrote extensively about our brains and memory and the weird ways our minds fail us. Sacks also split his life between California, New York and the UK, which I thought Daniel would enjoy. He also was a kind of an unconventional tearaway during his teens and twenties, had problems with drug addiction, and struggled with his sexuality and love affairs. His memoir also touches on his influences, including poets and writers and artists. He also wrote a fascinating article for the NYT announcing his own terminal illness, which wrangles with mortality and his relationship with death, which I think is fascinating bc I think Daniel could write something very similar.

Part of this is me choosing books which are intentionally kinda meta, but I also think they're the kind of texts Daniel, as the kind of writer and man he is, would read and appreciate.
